So, Ugruka dropped out because the system was too complex for him, and IronPenguin ragequit because he didn't like his stats. Deathguard is now the third person to leave the group, for equally shaky reasons. You may recall he threatened to leave when Born and Zam were complaining about how figuring out Monk combat was taking a while, but his more recent issue was with Rowan, to the point where he asked me to cut Rowan from the game completely. Apparently he finds Rowan scathing and critical, which amuses me because I spent over a year in the Gibson building up a reputation of being scathing and critical to the point of cruelty. He recently sent me a message in which he said it didn't make much sense to play with a group when 3 out of 4 people irritate you, which is fine, but it makes me question why he asked me to cut Rowan when I'd also have to cut Born and Zam to solve the problem, leaving me with a group of one.

So, I guess the ultimate point of this is that we don't have to figure out what to do about Searil anymore.

And Then There Were Five!

I roped in a guy called Technomage, who I believe is suitable for the game, and has previous experience. We worked through character generation earlier today and he's come out of it as a Wizard with necromancy specialism and a mean line in dishing out the suffering. Working him into the story should be a piece of cake. Hell, I might even hold auditions, to give him a firmer reason for being chosen.

Excellent! It makes plenty of sense to be holding auditions for this sort of thing, which is one of the reasons I like having a mercenary guild set-up (my previous games were more "rag-tag band of adventurers," which made incorporating new characters difficult).
